Platycerium Bifurcatum - Staghorn Fern

Platycerium bifurcatum, commonly known as the Staghorn Fern, is a unique and sculptural epiphytic fern admired for its antler-like fronds that branch and spread dramatically. Alongside its striking antler fronds, it also produces rounded, shield-like sterile fronds that protect the root base and collect organic matter in the wild.

Native to tropical regions, the Staghorn Fern thrives in bright, indirect light with good airflow and prefers a humid environment. As an epiphyte, it does not grow in traditional soil and is best mounted or placed in a loose medium like sphagnum moss. With proper care, it becomes a stunning living sculpture.
